Application of Nano silica powder

Nano-manufacturer (aka. Technology Co. Ltd. summarized specific applications of Nanosilica after years exploring Nano-powders.
Plastic
Nano-silica Light-transmissive with a smaller particle size. This can make plastics dense. When silica is added to polystyrene, it improves the film’s transparency, strength and toughness, as well as its waterproofing and anti-aging capabilities.

Rubber
Rubber is a rubber elastomer that has excellent stretchability but its overall performance isn’t satisfactory. Carbon black is added to rubber to increase its strength, wear-resistance, and aging resistance. Carbon black is added to rubber, but this results in a black product. The grade of the rubber product is low. The introduction of nano-SiO2 to China has provided a solid material base for the production of new rubber products that have novel colors and high performance.
When rubber is treated with nano-SiO2, its abrasion and flexural strength, as well as its resistance to aging, are improved. Its color also looks brighter, and color retention is better.
Dye
Organic dyes may have vibrant colors and strong tinting powers, but they are not as resistant to light, heat, solvents, or migration than inorganics. Addition of nano-SiO2 to organic dyes improves their anti-aging and brightness properties.

Ceramics
Using nano-SiO2 Instead of adding traditional Nano-additives to ceramics, the particles can also be used as second-phase particles. This not only increases the toughness and strength of the ceramic but also its hardness and elastic modulus. The performance is better and the effect is more optimal than traditional Nano
additives.
By using nano-SiO2 in the composite of ceramic substrates, not only is the density, toughness, smoothness and toughness improved, but the sintering temp greatly reduced. The application of nano-SiO2 to ceramic products, such as ceramic filter and corundum ball is also very important.

Sealant Adhesive
Sealants, adhesives, and other important products are widely used and have many applications. This requires the right conditions in terms of product viscosity (liquidity), curing speed, and cure time. Nano-materials have been used as modifiers in many foreign products. Nano-SiO2 has become the most popular. It is mostly coated with an organic material to make nano-SiO2 more hydrophobic, and then added to the sealant. It is formed quickly by the Nano-SiOX, small particles that form a network to slow down the flow and speed up the curing. A small nano-SiO2 size increases both the sealing and the impermeability.

Glass Product
The FRP materials are light, have high strength and corrosion resistance but have low hardness. They also have poor wear resistance. Scientists use ultrasonic dispersion to add nano-SiO2 into the gel coat resin. They then compare the performance of the gel without the nano-SiO2. nano-SiO2 Wear resistance has increased 1 to 2 fold. Nanoparticles are grafted and bonded to organic polymers, increasing the material’s toughness. Tensile strength and Impact strength increase by one time. Heat resistance has been improved as well, as mentioned above.

What is Fumed Silica?

Fumed silica can be described as a fine white powder that is made by hydrolysis of silicon hailide at high temperatures using an oxyhydrogen torch. It is a form of amorphous silicone dioxide product. The primary particle sizes are between 740nm to 200-500nm. Aggregate particle sizes range from 200-500nm to about 200-500nm. Specific surface area is 100400m2/g. High purity SiO2 content is not below 99.8%. There are a number of silica-hydroxyl groups in the vapor phase silicaaggregates that have untreated surfaces. One is an isolated, unperturbed free hydroxyl molecule; the other is bonded silyl molecules that are linked to form hydrogen bonds. The vapor-phase silica aggregates have the untreated surfaces. They contain multiple -Oh compound, which can easily form an uniform three-dimensional network structure in the liquid system (hydrogen bond). This three-dimensional network structure, called the hydrogen bond, is formed by external force (shear, electric, etc.). The medium will crumble, the medium will thin out, and the viscosity will drop. When the external force is gone, the three-dimensional structure of the hydrogen bond (hydrogen link) will revert to its original state.

Fumed silica, one of the most valuable new inorganic material, is one. It has a small particle diameter, large specific surface area and strong surface adsorption. Its high stability, reinforcing effects, thickening and thixotropy make it an irreplaceable choice in many unique fields.
It is widely used as an additive, catalyst carrier, decolorizing agent or matting agent in various industries.

Fumed silica is mainly composed of two types of “sex”, hydrophilic or waterphobic. You can use chemical, mechanical, and physical methods to alter the fumed silicona interface or surface. This includes surface energy, surface wetability, reaction characteristics, surface structure, functional groups, and electrical properties. This allows it to be used in modern new material and new technology as well as the requirements of developing new technology.

Hydrophobic fumed Silica Applications

Features and Main Applications of Silica Aerogel

The main features of silica Aerogel

Silica aerogel’s unique structure gives it the properties of high heat insulation and low sound transmission. Water glass is a rational choice when making silica jelly. Water glass is an alkali silicate made from silicon dioxide, alkali oxides and water. It is also known by the name sulphuricine. Water glass can be classified into two types by the alkali metallic, which are potassium water glass or soda water glasses. This stage will show you how to prepare silica aerogels using low-cost silicon sources.

Silica aerogel’s main purpose

1. Thermal insulation

Thermal insulation is the most popular use for silica gel. Silica aerogel is thermally conductive at a level below 0.02W/(m*k) and lower than air. Silica aerosol has the highest thermal insulation properties in the current process. It can be used for national defense, industry, and scientific research. It can also serve as a pipeline insulation. , Insulation glass for refrigeration, heat insulation glass for clothing, heat insulation glass for heat.

2. Catalyst and catalyst

Silica gel’s strength and heat transfer can be continually improved through research and development. This can allow silica gel to be used in catalyst carriers and catalysts. Organic fusion of SiO2 & TO2 or cohydrolysis Si and metal alkoxide can produce TO2-SiO2 Aerogel. This will increase silica aerogel’s specific surface area and adsorption efficiency.

3. Acoustic delay

Silica gel is able to transmit sound through its pores due to its unique porous nanostructure. There will be significant energy loss at this point, which decreases the sound wave amplitude and slows down sound speed. Aerogels can also transmit very little in solid materials. This silica aerogel, which is based on the above, has a high rate of speed, large acoustic interference propagation range, and the advantages of corrosion resistance as well as aging resistance and high temperature resistance. Silica aerogel can now be used in ultrasonic instruments, acoustic instruments, soundproof windows.

One has high specific area and volume and makes a great catalyst or drug carrier. While the other has excellent optical and mechanical properties and is useful in ceramics as well as optoelectronics fields such coatings and optoelectronics. application.

Silica Hollow Sphere Discovered by Researchers

To create a high-performance, multifunctional lithium-sulfur separator you can combine mesoporous Nickel/silica hollowspheres and graphene. A large number silica nanosheets make up the hollow Ni/SiO2sphere. This allows for uniform distribution of large quantities of Ni nanoparticles. It was discovered that LiPSs can be absorbed by porous silica sheets. This is based on both theoretical and experimental research. The strong chemical reaction of Ni nanoparticles to LiPSs is enhanced by their good dispersion. They also speed up the redox cycle. Graphene creates a good conductive net and encourages Li2S precipitation redox kinetics. A perfect ground anchor conversion function, as well as a conductive network that is highly efficient in reducing permeability, ensure high sulfur utilization. Tungstenmolybdenummetals (aka. Silica Gel Mw

Silica gel mw is a hygroscopic solid, and is widely used in the manufacturing industry as a desiccant. It adsorbs up to 37% of its weight in moisture in high humidity environments. This makes it reusable multiple times with very little if any loss of efficiency.

A crystalline silica gel consists of an irregular tridimensional framework of alternating silicon and oxygen atoms with nanometer-scale voids and pores. The voids and pores may contain water or other liquids, or they may be filled by gas or vacuum.

It is highly active and porous, with a specific surface area of more than 450 m2 per g of material. This enables silica gel to be effective as an adsorbent for liquids and gases.

There are many forms of silica gel available commercially. They range from spherical to granular particles, and are available in block and microsphere shapes.

Spherical solid silica gels have a particle size of 2.0 to 8.0 mm and have a specific surface area of 600 to 750 m 2 /g. They are mainly used for adsorption separation and purification.

Amorphous and polycrystalline solid silica gels are also available. These have an average pore size of 2.4 nm and are commonly used as a desiccant.
