Molybdenum Dithiophosphate liquid MoDTP CAS 72030-25-2

About Molybdenum Dithiophosphate liquid MoDTP:
Friction and wear properties of molybdenum dithiophosphate (MoDTP) additive under reciprocating sliding conditions. The additive consisting of pure MODTP is not effective for paraffin-based oils but is effective for engine oils containing P-S compounds such as zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate. The addition of P-O, P-S compounds and MODTP was effective for base oil and engine oil.

The surface film of molybdenum dithiophosphate is mainly composed of molybdenum sulfide and iron phosphate on the surface and molybdenum trioxide and iron phosphate on the surface.

The friction and wear properties of molybdenum dithiocarbamate (MODTC) and molybdenum dithiocarbamate (MODTP) were studied under reciprocating sliding conditions. Both MODTC and MODTP reduce friction and wear.MoS2 – the based surface film is formed by MODTC.MoDTP is mainly composed of MoS{SUB 2} and FePO{SUB 4} at 120 ° C, and MoS{SUB 2}, MoO{SUB 3} and FePO{SUB 4} at 200 ° C.MoS{Sub 2} films on the surface can effectively reduce the friction. The friction coefficient decreases with the increase of MOS {Sub 2} concentration in the surface film.Compared with MODTP, MODTC has higher capability of MOS {SUB 2} formation. Therefore, MODTC is superior to MODTP in reducing friction. Tungstenmolybdenummetals is a trusted global Molybdenum Dithiophosphate liquid MoDTP supplier. Feel free to send an inquiry about the latest price of MoDTP at any time.

Mo – Molybdenum Wafer

Mo – molybdenum wafers are polycrystalline refractory semiconductor substrates for n-type silicon doped semiconductors, and for use in LED and power device applications. This material offers high heat dissipation in LED chips.

Continuous MoS2 growth on graphene with controlled grain size: a novel strategy for van der Waals heterostructures

Epitaxial MoS2 monolayers can be formed on large-area graphene via chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on a sapphire substrate. This approach, compared to the conventional CVD growth of MoS2 on SiO2, has the advantage that grain size can be controlled to achieve desired properties, such as high crystalline quality and resistivity to electrical currents.

In this work, we report on a new method for synthesizing a continuous MoS2 film on graphene with controlled grain size using a gas phase sulfuric precursor (H2S) and molybdenum metal source. This method has been shown to produce uniform and heterogeneous films with high crystallinity over the entire area.

Electrochemical characterization and thin film transistors are used to characterize the performance of the synthesized MoS2 films grown on wafer-scale substrates. The results demonstrate that the control over the number of layers and the crystalline structure of MoS2 allows for the formation of highly-stable, uniform thin film transistors on silicon and quartz substrates with good thermal stability.

Bonding between a silicon wafer and a Mo substrate: without any flux

A Mo/Si bonding layer was formed on a Mo wafer, bonded in a 50 millitorrs vacuum at 290 degC for 15 min without the use of any flux. The microstructure of the bonding layer was investigated through scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX).

Mo – molybdenum wafers are polycrystalline refractory semiconductor substrates for n-type silicon doped semiconductors, and for use in LED and power device applications. This material […]

What is Molybdenum Silicide MoSi2 Powder?

Introduction to Molybdenum Silicide MoSi2 Pulp Molybdenum silicide In 1906, it was discovered. In different circumstances, silicon and molybdenum may form molybdenum trisilicide, molybdenum pentasilicate, and molybdenum silicate (Mo3Si2). Molybdenum trisilicide (MoSi2) – a Dalton type intermetallic compound – is the most important. The excellent high-temperature essential qualities of the atomic combination found in its crystal structure show coexistence between metal bonds and covalent bond.
Molybdenum Disilicide It is an organic compound. The chemical formula for MoSi2 is gray metal solid. Although insoluble in most acids it is soluble in nitric and hydrofluoric acids. Both types of atoms have the same radii as well as electronegativity. This is similar to metal or ceramic. Molybdenum Disilicide The surface is electrically conductive and at high temperatures forms an oxide layer of silicon dioxide to protect it from further oxidation.
It can be used in high-temperature, oxidation-resistant coatings, electric heating elements and integrated electrode films, as well as structural materials, composite reinforcements, wear-resistant materials and other fields.

Molybdenum silicicide MoSi2 MoPi2 Powder – Physical Properties
MoSi2 refers to a type of intermediate phase that has the highest silicon content in Mo-Si’s binary alloy system. This is a Dalton-type intermetallic composition with a fixed structure. It is a type of high-temperature material that exhibits both ceramic and metal properties. High-temperature oxidation resistance and oxidation resistant temperature up to 1600 with SiC equivalent; Moderate densities (6.24g/cm3). Low thermal expansion coefficient (8.10-6K-1); Excellent electric conductivity. Higher brittleness and ductile transition temperatures (1000), below the hardbrittleness of ceramics. It is a metal-like soft material above 1000. MoSi2 is used primarily as a heating element, integrated circuits, high temperature oxidation-resistant coating and high-temperature structure material.
MoSi2 consists of silicon and molybdenum bonded with metal bonds. While silicon and silicon can be bonded by covalent bond, silicon and molybdenum are bonded via metal bonds. Molybdenum disilicide can be described as a gray tetragonal stone. It is insoluble with most mineral acids (including aqua-roya), but is soluble and can be used to heat an oxidation atmosphere at high temperatures (1700).
An oxidizing atmosphere forms a protective layer on the surface quartz glass (SiO2) that has been heated to high temperatures. This prevents continuous oxidation. SiO2 protective layer is formed when the temperature of heating element exceeds 1700. It thickens at the melting point 1710 and is fused with SiO2 to create molten dropslets. Its surface-extending ability causes it to lose its protective properties. The protective film is formed again when the element is continuously exposed to the oxidant. Due to the high oxidation at low temperatures, this element can’t be used for extended periods of time at 400-700.

What Is The Applications Of Molybdenum Disulfide?

What is molybdenum sulfide?

Molybdenum disulfide This is the main component in molybdenite. It is a solid black powder with metallic luster. Molybdenum dioxide has a chemical formula: MoS2. Its melting point at 2375°C is MoS2, and its density at 4.80g/cm3 is 14°C. The Mohs hardness ranges between 1.0 and 1.5. It begins to dissolve at 1370 degC and is broken down into metallic molybdenum at 1600 degC.
Molybdenum disulfide can not be dissolved in water, dilute or concentrated sulfuric, and is usually insoluble in alkalis, organic solvents, and acids. However, it is soluble in aqua regia, boiled concentrated sulfuric, and in other acids.

What are molybdenum disulfide’s applications?

Molybdenum disulfide can be found in many carbon brush additives used in the automotive and machinery industries. You can add it to grease, grease, PTFE and nylon to increase lubrication and decrease friction.

Molybdenum dioxide can also be used for non-ferrous metals release agents and as a lubricant to forging dies. This will help extend the service life, improve working conditions, improve the running state, prevent damage from the surface, and prevent cold welding. Make sure that the threaded connection is in its best condition when connecting.

Mixing molybdenum diulfide and other volatile solvents allows it to be sprayed onto metal surfaces. It can also be added with engineering plastics for lubricating elements. Molybdenum sulfide can also be used directly in electronics, spraying or electroplating as well as hardware and screws.

Molybdenum disulfide can be used as a solid lubricant. It is particularly well-suited to high temperatures and high pressure. It is diamagnetic, so it can be used to produce a line photoconductor or a semiconductor of P-type and N-type conductivity. Additionally, it has the functions rectification as well as energy conversion. Molybdenum dioxide can be used to catalyze the dehydrogenation complex hydrocarbons.

Molybdenum disulfide, also known as “the king among advanced solid lubricants”, is another name for it. This solid powder is made of natural molybdenum powder after chemical purification. Molybdenum disulfide’s color is black, slightly silver-gray and has metallic luster. It has a greasy texture and is insoluble with water. It has good dispersibility and low adhesion. It can be added with other greases to form a colloidal condition that doesn’t adhere to them. This can increase the lubricity as well as the extreme pressure of grease.

Molybdenum disulfide works well in extreme conditions, such as high temperature, pressure, high speed, and high loads. It also prolongs equipment’s lifespan.

Molybdenum dioxidide is used in friction material to reduce friction at low temperature. It also increases friction at high temperatures.

what is Molybdenum Lubricant ?

What exactly is Molybdenum Lubricant?

Molybdenum – This natural mineral has been used to enhance the lubricity for mechanical parts over many centuries. It acts as an antiwear layer by drawing itself onto the metal surface. If the additive cannot dissolve in oil, it will be ineffective. You will need a suitable oil lubricant in order to prevent it from clogging filters and passageways.

Molly grease may be found in nearly every part of heavy-duty vehicles. To prevent internal gearing from bind, U-joint manufacturers specify that grease should contain no more than 5% of molybdenum sulfide. Moly grease used on slack adjustment may reduce the equipment’s performance.

Molybdenum grease a type lubricant with low friction but high pressure-absorption capability is one example. It has stick-slip protection and anti-corrosion. Moly grease can be used to press-fit all types of machine components. Moly grease can also be used to prevent gear pitting. This grease can be used to lubricate metal-to–metal contacts and machine parts. It is also useful for the lubrication of threaded and roller bearings.

Molybdenum sulfide also makes a great lubricant. It’s a mixture of molybdenum, sulfur atoms. Through its sulfur atoms, this compound can bind to metal surfaces. Therefore, it prevents any asperities from touching the metal surfaces. MoS2 is another popular molybdenum grease. It has particles sizes from 1 to 100 um. The sliding friction properties of MoS2 are low at 0.1% to 0.1 s.

What is Molybdenum Silicide?

What is it? Molybdenum Silicide ? Molybdenum Disilicide is an organic compound with the chemical composition MoSi2. It is a grey metallic solid. Although insoluble in most acids it is soluble in nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid. The radii of these two atoms do not differ much, and their electronegativities are very close. They also have properties that are similar to metals and ceramics. Molybdenum Disilicide can be used as an electrically conducting material. A passivation layer made of silicon dioxide can also be created on the surface at high temperatures to prevent further oxidation. It is used to make high-temperature antioxidation coatings and integrated electrode films.
Molybdenum Siicide:
MoSi2 (intermediate phase) is the most silicon-rich in the Mo–Si binary alloy system. It’s a Dalton type intermetallic compound of a fixed composition. This high-temperature material has great performance because of its dual properties of ceramics as well as metal. Excellent high temperature resistance to oxidation, it has a oxidation resistant temperature of 1600. This is equivalent in SiC. It also has a moderate density (6.24g/cm3), low thermal expansion coefficient (8.10-6K-1), good electrical conductivity, high brittle-ductile temperature (1000), which is below ceramic-like hardbrittleness. It is soft and plastic-like metal above 1000. MoSi can be used in integrated circuits, heating elements and high temperature antioxidation coatings.
MoSi2 consists of silicon and molybdenum bonded with metal bonds. In MoSi2, silicon and molybdenum are bonded via covalent bonds. Molybdenum Disilicide is a gray tetragonal crystalline. It is insoluble within common mineral acids (including aqua regia), however, it is easily soluble in mixed acids nitric acid or hydrofluoric acid. It can be used to heat elements in high-temperature (1700) environments due to its high resistance to high-temperature oxygenation.
An oxidizing atmosphere forms a protective layer on the surface quartz glass (SiO2) that has been heated to high temperatures. This prevents continuous oxidation. SiO2 fused at 1710degC to form molten droplets. It loses its protective power due to the act of expanding its surface. The oxidant acts on the element and forms a protective film. This element can not be used for long periods in temperatures between 400 and 700 degrees C due to its strong oxidation at lower temperatures.

Molybdenum Disulfide MoS2 Powder CAS 1317-33-5

About Molybdenum Disulfide MoS2 Powder:
Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is the main component of molybdenite. Black solid powder with a metallic luster. Chemical formula MoS2, melting point 1185°C, density 4.80g/cm3 (14°C), Mohs hardness 1.01.5. It starts to decompose at 1370°C and decomposes into metallic molybdenum and sulfur at 1600°C. It starts to be oxidized when heated at 315°C in the air, and the temperature rises and the oxidation reaction accelerates. Molybdenum disulfide is insoluble in water, dilute acid and concentrated sulfuric acid. It is generally insoluble in other acids, alkalis and organic solvents, but it is soluble in aqua regia and boiling concentrated sulfuric acid. Slowly oxidized at 400 ℃ to generate molybdenum trioxide:
2MoS2+ 7 O2→ 2 MoO3 + 4 SO2 can be used to test the generated molybdenum trioxide with ferrotitanium reagent. First, the product is treated with sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide solution (the principle is to convert molybdenum trioxide into molybdate), and then the titanium iron reagent solution is added dropwise, which will react with the generated sodium molybdate or potassium molybdate to produce gold Yellow solution. This method is very sensitive, and trace amounts of molybdate can be detected. And if there is no molybdenum trioxide generated, the solution will not produce golden yellow, because molybdenum disulfide does not react with sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide solution.
Molybdenum disulfide can react with chlorine when heated to produce molybdenum pentachloride:
2 MoS2+ 7 Cl2→ 2 MoCl5+ 2 S2Cl2
Molybdenum disulfide and alkyl lithium react under control to form an intercalation compound (interlayer compound) LixMoS2. If it reacts with butyllithium, the product is LiMoS2.
Molybdenum disulfide has a high content of active sulfur, which is easy to cause corrosion to copper. It is discussed in many books and papers on lubricant additives. In addition, when the parts made of copper and its alloys need to be lubricated, it is not impossible to use molybdenum disulfide lubricating products, but also to add copper corrosion inhibitors. Feel free to send an inquiry to get the latest price if you would like to buy Molybdenum Disulfide MoS2 Powder in bulk.

Features of Molybdenum Disulfide MoS2 Powder:

How is Molybdenum Disulfide MoS2 Powder produced?
Natural law
MoS2 can be prepared by the natural method, namely the molybdenite concentrate purification method, which is to remove the acid-insoluble matter in the molybdenite concentrate, SiO2, Fe, Cu, by subjecting high-quality molybdenum concentrate to certain physical and chemical actions. Ca, Pb and other impurities are further refined to obtain nano-MoS2. However, the purity of the nano-MoS2 produced by the natural method is not high, and the purification technology needs to be further improved. When the temperature is lower than 400℃, it is recommended to use the most expensive MoS2 when working in ordinary atmosphere. It has lubricating ability below 1300℃, and it is recommended to use the cost-based MoS2.
Chemical synthesis
The synthetic method can produce sulfides with high purity, less impurities, and fine particle size, and can prepare sulfides that meet different functional requirements. Therefore, the production of nano sulfides by synthetic methods has always attracted much attention. There are many methods for preparing nano-MoS2, such as ammonium tetrathiomolybdate thermal decomposition method, hydrogen sulfide or sulfur vapor reduction method, high-energy ball milling method, carbon nanotube space confinement method, hydrothermal synthesis method, high-energy physical method and chemical method combination and many more.

Applications of Molybdenum Disulfide MoS2 Powder:
Molybdenum disulfide is diamagnetic, can convert linear photoconductors and semiconductors with P-type or N-type conductivity, and has the functions of rectification and energy conversion.
Molybdenum disulfide can also be synthesized as a catalyst for hydrocarbon dehydrogenation.
Molybdenum disulfide is also known as “the king of advanced solid lubricants”.
Molybdenum disulfide is a solid powder made from natural molybdenum concentrate chemically purified by changing the molecular structure.
Molybdenum disulfide has good dispersibility and does not need to be added. It can be added to various greases to form a colloidal state and will never replace it, thereby increasing the lubricity and extreme pressure of the grease.
Molybdenum disulfide is also suitable for high temperature, high pressure, high viscosity and high load mechanical working conditions to extend the service life of the equipment.
The main function of molybdenum disulfide as a friction material is to reduce friction at low temperatures, increase friction at high temperatures, and reduce combustion loss. Easily volatilize in the friction material.
Anti-friction: The size of disulfide particles formed by supersonic jet pulverization can reach 325-2500 mesh, the particle hardness is 1-1.5, and the friction coefficient is 0.05-0.1, so it can be used in friction materials to take advantage of the anti-friction effect;
Increased friction: Molybdenum disulfide is not conductive, and silicon carbide, molybdenum disulfide, molybdenum trisulfide and molybdenum trioxide are present. When the temperature of the friction material rises sharply due to friction, the shrinking molybdenum trioxide particles gradually heat up and expand, thereby increasing the friction in the axial direction.
Antioxidant: Molybdenum disulfide is obtained through a comprehensive chemical purification reaction, and its pH value changes 7-8, slightly alkaline. It covers the surface of the friction material, which can protect other materials from oxidation, especially making it difficult for other materials to move and enhancing adhesion.

Storage Condition of Molybdenum Disulfide MoS2 Powder:
Damp reunion will affect MoS2 powder dispersion performance and using effects, therefore, Molybdenum Disulfide MoS2 Powder powder should be sealed in vacuum packing and stored in cool and dry room, the Molybdenum Disulfide MoS2 Powder can not be exposure to air. In addition, the Molybdenum Disulfide powder should be avoided under stress.

This new material is a type of functional material with high melting points and hardness, good mechanical and thermal stability, and good resistance to corrosion. It is widely used in high-temperature resistance, friction resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and other areas.
With similar electronic structure and catalytic properties to noble metals, it can be widely used as catalysts for reactions involving hydrogens, such as isomerization of alkanes, hydrogenation of unsaturated hydrocarbons, hydrodesulfurization, and denitrification. High hardness, wear resistance and abrasion resistant. It is an important component of molybdenum-molybdenum carbide hard coating and other cermet coatings, and can also be used as wear-resistance and scratch resistance coating.

Structure of Molybdenum Carbide Mo2C
The interstitial structure of metallic carbides is generally accepted. Normal gap alloys have metal atoms arranged in forms like face-centered cubic, hexagonal dense stack (HCP), simple hexagonal and HEX. Nonmetallic atoms enter the Spaces between the metal atoms. The most common gap between metal atoms is the triangular prism or octahedral. The crystal structure and electronic properties of metallic carbides are dependent on their geometrical and electronic elements. Hagg’s empirical rule can be used to describe the geometrical factors. A simple crystal structure is created when the atomic proportion of nonmetal metal is lower that 0.59. While metallic carbides may have simple crystal structures but few compounds have the exact same crystal structure as their parent metals, it is interesting. The molybdenum-molybdenum metal, for example, has a body-centered cubic structure. However, its stable carbides, which have a hexagonal compact piling structure, and carbon dioxides, which have a face center cube structure. The electron factor is another factor that affects the crystal structure in gap alloys. The cooperation between the SP-D orbital and the nonmetallic orbitals of the metal atoms results in bonding.
