Zin sulfide can be described as an organic compound with a chemical composition of ZnS. This is a white, slightly yellow powder which becomes darker when exposed sunlight. It is stable when dry, but will slowly oxidize to zinc sulfate in humid conditions.

1. Physical Properties

Zinc Sulfide: What are the applications?

1. Zinc sulfuride (ZnS), is widely used for making infrared fairings, windows, and optical components. It has high purity, is insoluble in water, has moderate density, and is easy to process. Zinc sulfuride (ZnS), which has excellent refractive index uniformity. It has excellent image transmission performance within the 8-12mm range. Some absorb after 10um.
